Parkland College: One of the Top Community Colleges in Illinois
As the cost of a four-year education keeps rising some of the best, two-year schools in the state are right here in central illinois.
According to website "Reboot Illinois," Parkland is the sixth best community college in the state. The ranking was based on the "success rate" of each institution -- or how many students graduate or transfer into four-year universities.
Parkland scored a 55% success rate according to the list.
"The success of students is always very important to us. But I think also at the same time, because now, we are more and more conscious that we want to make sure our students succeed, they complete or they transfer, that we have done a lot of things within our institution to make sure that we lay the foundations for success," Pamela Lau, Dean of Academic Services at Parkland, said.
Other "top" institutions include: Lake Land College in Mattoon and Danville Area Community College. The full list, which comes from CollegeMeasures.org ranked schools throughout the entire country.
