Dashers Cancel Raffle After Tickets Sold

DANVILLE -- If you were hoping to win a car from the Danville Dashers now is the time to give up.

After raising less than two thousand dollars the team is scrapping the raffle of a Fox Auto World vehicle.

The team was raising money for Be the Match, a bone marrow research organization.

A permit is required for a raffle but it expires after ninety days.

In this case, the Dashers took too long to sell tickets and it would now be illegal to proceed.

Now the dashers are making a plan to return money to those who bought tickets.

If you did buy a raffle ticket representatives with the Dashers say you can bring that ticket stub to any of the matches or to their office and they will return the money to you.

As far as what is to come of the car, the owner of Fox Auto World who donated the car isn't sure.

He does not believe he will recoup the costs of the vehicle.
