Illinois River Expected to Crest Thursday
The Illinois River is on the rise again. West-central Illinois has seen between 2-3 inches of rain the last few days, causing the river to go back up.
This morning in Meredosia, emergency officials told us the river was more than 24.2 feet--four feet above flood stage.
We're told sandbags and water pumps are still in place there and the levee is holding up. The river is expected to crest at 25 feet on Thursday.
Moderate flooding is predicted in Beardstown, with water cresting eight feet above flood stage.
