Pardon for Alan Beaman?

A trial has been set for a man who has spent more than 13-years behind bars for a crime he says he didn't commit. Alan Beaman was serving a 50-year sentence for the 1993 stabbing and strangulation death of an Illinois State student, Jennifer Lockmiller.

The State Supreme Court reversed Beaman's conviction.

Now he wants to be legally declared innocent. Prosecutors are opposing the request. Beaman will be back in court August 6th. The case will be heard by Champaign County Judge Jeffrey Ford.
