Urbana's Democratic Primary Election

URBANA--Thousands of voters are expected to hit the polls today for a primary in Urbana.

They'll decide which  Democratic candidate will be put on April's General Election ballot.

There are two Democratic party nominations for both mayor and city clerk.

Current Mayor Laurel Prussing, and challenger Leslie Stratton are running for mayor.

While your city clerk nominations are Phyllis Clark and Robert Gatsche.

The Champaign County Clerk tells us, this is the lowest voter turn out election because it's only for Urbana Democratic voters.

However, they still expect to see at up to 2,500 voters hit the polls today.

If you still haven't cast your ballot, it's not too late!

Polls are open until 7 pm.
