Treasurer's Office Cuts Spending by 3 Percent
The state treasurer is cutting more money from his 2014 budget. Dan Rutherford announced today he has cut his office's spending by 3 percent. The move saves taxpayers about $100,000 a year.
The savings come from improving the technology and buying things like toilet paper in bulk.
The cuts come from the general revenue budget.
Rutherford will present the budget proposal to the general assembly for final approval.
