December Unemployment Rate Down Throughout Illinois
December jobless rates fell in most of the state's metropolitan areas compared to the previous year.
Figures show rates fell in nine of the state's 12 metro areas compared to December 2011.
Bloomington-Normal had the lowest unemployment rate, at 6.3 percent. Springfield came in at 7.2 percent, and Champaign-Urbana at 7.4 percent.
The three metropolitan areas that saw increases were Decatur, Danville, and Peoria.
