An area softball coach faces criminal charges after having sex with one of her teenage players.
According to the Assistant State's Attorney, 29 year old Candace Welch, and the then 15 year old female, started their relationship last July at a softball tournament.
In December a neighbor called the Sheriff's Department to report their relationship.
The teen was interviewed at Child Advocacy Center and said they had a dating relationship.
Welch faces charges of criminal sexual assault and abuse and aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
