Champaign House Fire Update

CHAMPAIGN--Champaign Police are now investigating a house fire, after investigators determine Tuesday's early morning fire was arson.

Crews responded to the scene around 4:20 am, and battled the flames for nearly three hours.

According to investigators, the fire started in a shared garage at 1701 West Church Street.

It then spread into a house at 205 North Victor Street.

The fire destroyed the garage, and the house on Victor St. suffered heavy damage.

The people living in the home on Church Street were evacuated, but are now back in their home.

Some firefighters suffered minor injuries, but returned to work.
