Urbana Mayoral Candidate Speaks Out
URBANA--A candidate for Urbana Mayor, said if the Boneyard Creek project goes through, it won't enhance downtown Urbana.
Les Stratton held a press-conference earlier today.
He said, a market study shows that the Boneyard project is a political decision, and it doesn't make sense financially.
Stratton believes that $5 Million project, won't help bring businesses to downtown, which is what he thinks Urbana needs.
Stratton adds, the worst part of the entire Boneyard project, it takes money from the TIF 1 and TIF 2 districts, which won't allow the development of other sites in the downtown area.
