Champaign Councilman Kyles Facing Petition Questions

CHAMPAIGN-- Former Champaign Mayor Dannel McCollum is formally objecting to City Councilman Will Kyles' petition for re-election. Kyles currently serves on the Champaign City Council, and represents the first district.
McCollum outlines 81 of Kyles' 133 signatures as coming from people not registered to vote, not living at the address they used on the petition, or not signing the petition with signatures that match their voter identification cards.
Kyles says while no part of the petition was intended to mislead, and if he is removed from the ballot through a hearing process, he will seek re-election as a write-in candidate.
The first of hearing will be held Tuesday, December 11th, a second hearing is set for Friday, December 14th.
