Beckman Could Make Scheelhaase Decision Wednesday
CHAMPAIGN-- The Illini football team is preparing to play this Saturday against Arizona State without starting quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase. The junior, who has made 27 consecutive starts for the Illini was limited in practice Tuesday, thanks to a left ankle injury he suffered in Saturday's win against Western Michigan.
Illinois head coach Tim Beckman is on record saying he likes his players to at least practice Wednesday if they are to play on Saturday, but isn't necessarily holding Scheelhaase to that timeline.
