Making Maple Syrup in Central Illinois

Native Americans were the ones who figured out that a sweet syrup could be cooked after tapping sugar maple trees and boiling down the sap. This weekend, ABC Newschannel 20 photojournalist Jason Nitschke went to the Lincoln Memorial Garden to break down the process.

If you missed this weekend's presentations, there are more chances for you to watch and participate. You can head to the Lincoln Memorial Garden February 23 and 24 or March 2, 3, 9, or 10. The garden's expert staff and volunteers will serve as guides at 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00 in the afternoon on each of the days listed. All presentations are free to attend.
