WHITNEY HOUSTON: FINAL RECORDING TO BE RELEASED

NEW YORK (AP) -- You will soon be able to get your hands on Whitney Houston's final recording. The tune is called "Celebrate" and Houston did the song with Jordin Sparks in the movie "Sparkle." The song was posted on Ryan Seacrest's web site and will be available on iTunes on June 5. Houston had just finished work on a remake of the film which comes out in August when she died the day before the Grammys in Los Angeles. Sparks performed a tribute to Houston Sunday night at the Billboard Music Awards, singing "I Will Always Love You" as Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina wiped away tears.

will.i.am: BLACK EYED PEAS STAR CARRIES OLYMPIC FLAME

LONDON (AP) -- will.i.am says it was a tribute to the late Michael Jackson. The Black Eyed Peas star did a little moonwalk as he carried the Olympic flame through the western English city of Taunton. Thousands cheered as will.i.am trotted, then moonwalked the torch along. He says he and Jackson "were really close" and he believes Michael "would have been proud" of him, so he did a little moonwalk to mark the occasion. The will.i.am appearance was a surprise to the crowds that turned out for the torch relay -- but not to the singer. He says he has known for about a year that he'd carry the torch -- but was told not to tweet about it in advance.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Still waiting to get word on when and where Donna Summer will be laid to rest. The singer's publicist says the services will be private -- with just family and close friends invited. Her publicist says while Summer's family is overwhelmed by the public outpouring of support since her death, they want her funeral to be private.

ROBIN GIBB: HAILED IN NATIVE BRITAIN

LONDON (AP) -- You knew him as a musician -- and one third of the Bee Gees. But for people in Great Britain, Robin Gibb is being remembered for more than just his music. Fans and friends are recognizing Gibb for his work on behalf of British veterans as well as his interest in politics, history -- and the Titanic. Among those paying tribute is former Prime Minister Tony Blair -- who is a longtime friend of Gibb. Blair says the singer had a "wonderful open and fertile mind" -- and was not only a gifted musician and songwriter, but "was a highly intelligent, interested and committed human being." Gibb died Sunday of colon cancer and other complications.

GARCELLE BEAUVAIS: WRITING CHILDREN'S BOOKS

NEW YORK (AP) -- Garcelle Beauvais is trying to take on some of the issues facing kids these days -- by writing books. She has struck a deal with Stranger Comics for three books that will take on what the publisher calls "identity issues" facing many children today. The first book in the "I Am" series will focus on being of mixed ethnicity, the second will be about being a child of divorced parents. That's something Beauvais knows something about. The Haitian born actress' parents were divorced -- and she has been married twice.

SNOOP DOGG: BIG WILLIE (NELSON) STYLE

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- They both love fried chicken from the pan and pot, well, however you can get it smoked. But to hear Snoop Dogg tell it, the thing that makes him and Willie Nelson such good friends is their mutual love of music. Snoop says when he met Nelson, he felt the country star "was a hip-hop artist" because he showed him so much love. And the feeling is mutual. Nelson has put Snoop on his new album, "Heroes" -- a collection of songs with some of his musical heroes. Snoop is the only non-country artist featured on the project. Nelson says he really likes Snoop as a person, aside from the fact that they, as Nelson put it, "both smoke a little dope together now and then."

OKLAHOMA CITY ELIMINATES LOS ANGELES LAKERS

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Kobe Bryant has gone out with a bang -- but he and the rest of the Los Angeles Lakers are going home for the summer. Russell Westbrook scored 28 points, Kevin Durant added 25 points and 10 rebounds as the Oklahoma City Thunder ousted the Lakers from the NBA playoffs with a 106-90 win on their home court. Westbrook and Durant passed up on what would have normally been a break for them to stage a big second-half run that put the game out of reach for LA. The Thunder go on to meet the San Antonio Spurs for the Western Conference finals. That series starts Sunday.

D.J. WILLIAMS: BRONCOS LINEBACKER'S DUI TRIAL ENDS IN MISTRIAL

DENVER (AP) -- Denver Broncos linebacker D.J. Williams' DUI trial has ended before it ever got the chance to get started. A judge has declared a mistrial -- after Williams' lawyer objected to how jurors were selected. The lawyer complained he was only able to excuse two jurors instead of the three he is entitled to on jury selection. The judge granted the request and has set another trial on the misdemeanor charge on August 15. Williams was arrested November 12, 2010 and cited with DUI. It was his second such arrest in seven seasons in Denver. If convicted, he could face a multi-game suspension from the NFL. The trial has already been delayed several times, including last fall after Williams suffered a dislocated right elbow during a game.

NAACP BACKS SAME-SEX MARRIAGE

BALTIMORE (AP) -- For years, gay rights advocates have been saying the right for homosexuals to marry is similar to the fight for civil rights. And now, it appears the NAACP agrees. President Benjamin Jealous says he hopes a resolution by the NAACP supporting same-sex marriage will encourage blacks to support marriage equality as a civil right. Jealous says he hopes the civil rights group's declaration will "be a game-changer" if a same-sex marriage issue comes up in Maryland or other states. In a recent Pew poll, only 39 percent of blacks favor gay marriage, compared with nearly half of white Americans. Much of the opposition stems from churches, which have long been important institutions in the black community.

This one stemmed from a stampede at a celebrity basketball game the rapper and record label owner helped organize in 1991. Nine people died and 29 others were injured when people tried to crowd into the City College of New York gymnasium that was to host the game. Though jury selection actually started in the trial, the case ended up being settled out of court before the trial started.
