"AMERICAN IDOL" - THE BOYS

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Kara DioGuardi needs a big hanky after Big Mike. He left DioGuardi sobbing on "American Idol" last night. Michael "Big Mike" Lynche so moved DioGuardi, she was crying when he finished his version of "This Woman's Work." Simon Cowell says it was the best live performance of the season. Earlier in the show, Ellen DeGeneres jumped up and hugged Tim Urban after he did "Hallelujah." Tonight, the dream ends for four more Idol hopefuls, two guys and two gals. By the end of the evening, we will know this season's top-12.

COREY FELDMAN: COREY HAIM'S DEATH IS A "TRAGIC LOSS"

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Corey Feldman says the death of his lifelong friend Corey Haim is "a tragic loss." Feldman and Haim first became friends in "The Lost Boys" and went on to co-star in several projects, becoming known as The Two Coreys. They even had a reality show by that name, which showed the disintegration of their friendship and led to some memorable on-air fights. Feldman says we should take Haim's death "as a lesson in how we treat the people we share this world with." An autopsy is being conducted to see why Haim died at the age of 38. Haim had a history of drug problems.

CONAN O'BRIEN PICKS THE ONE PERSON HE'LL FOLLOW ON TWITTER - CHANGES HER LIFE

CONWAY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- Out of the blue, Conan O'Brien has picked the one person he'll follow on Twitter. Her name is Sarah Killen and her life has changed overnight. Last week Killen had three followers. Once O'Brien tweeted that he'd follow her, too, she picked up 150 followers per minute. She's now has more than 20,000. Killen is 19 and plans to marry. Her fiance wants O'Brien to be their best man.

"OUR FAMILY WEDDING" - AMERICA FERRERA

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- America Ferrera could relate to the Latin and black parents not approving of their kids' biracial relationship in "Our Family Wedding." She's seen this happen to friends of hers. Ferrera says a grandma would say she likes the boy her granddaughter is marrying, but would refuse to go to the wedding because she didn't believe in biracial relationships. Ferrera says she can't understand that kind of thinking. "Our Family Wedding" opens tomorrow.

REESE WITHERSPOON - VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Reese Witherspoon is helping to launch a new global effort to fight violence against women. Witherspoon is in Washington for a three-day summit, meeting with Secretary of State Hilary Clinton and others about ways to help the nearly one billion women who'll be victims of violence worldwide. One way is Witherspoon's involvement with the Avon Foundation for Women that's selling a woman's empowerment ring to go along with the bracelet and necklace that have already raised $8 million dollars for programs that help women.

OPERA BASED ON ANNA NICOLE SMITH'S LIFE TO OPEN IN LONDON NEXT YEAR

LONDON (AP) -- An opera based on the life of Anna Nicole Smith will open in London next year. It was composed by the same guy who created "Jerry Springer: The Opera." A Dutch soprano will play the role of Smith.

ROBERT DE NIRO TO PLAY VINCE LOMBARDI IN MOVIE

BRISTOL, Conn. (AP) -- Robert De Niro is going to play Vince Lombardi in a movie. It'll take place during the time Lombardi turned the Green Bay Packers from the NFL's worst team to league champions. "Lombardi" is due to be released in 2012.
