Champaign- With another winter storm system on its way, Illinois State Police want you to take caution on the roads.
Illinois State Police are reporting nearly one-hundred and eighty vehicles in the ditch since the first of the year, with more than thirty weather related crashes. Two of those crashes ended as fatalities. State Police say most of these crashes could have been prevented.
Not only is the Illinois State Police working hard, so is the Charleston Public Works Department. Tom Schuhs with the Champaign Public Works said they've set up their scheduling and have checked all their trucks for any kind of repairs that need to be made. Officials say they're stocked up on salt for the roads and will continue to monitor the supply.

Joliet man found guilty of Aurora woman's murder

ST. CHARLES, Ill. (AP) -- A Kane County judge has found 26-year-old Hezekiah Hamilton of Joliet guilty of first-degree murder in the October 2007 stabbing death of his girlfriend.
Prosecutors say the victim, 25-year-old Brenetta Beck, had been stabbed 54 times when she was found dead in the bathroom of her Aurora apartment. Her two children, one aged 14 months and the other only 10 days old, were in the apartment at the time.
Circuit Court Judge Timothy Sheldon found Hamilton guilty on Thursday after a four-day bench trial.
There were no witnesses, but Kane County State's Attorney John Barsanti says he presented what he called a "mountain" of circumstantial and DNA evidence tying Hamilton to the crime.
Hamilton faces a prison term of from 20 to 60 when he is sentenced May 17.
