Danville- Eating for a good cause was the mission of one group in Danville.
The local VFW post held a Superbowl chili cook off to raise money for veterans.
The cooking started early this afternoon at VFW post 5520.
The group had raffles and door prizes to raise money all of it going to the Danville VA hospital.
The group says money will be used for events at the hospital aimed at making the lives better for those who are there.
"This is very important for us. It basically goes for alot of things. Basically once a month we actually we go and do bingo on Saturdays. So we get 70 people out of their wheel chairs. Bring them over and we set up bingo for them. So it's a place for them to get out and express and be themselves again," says organizer Jason Wheeler.

Ill. teen held on bond in baseball bat attack

DES PLAINES, Ill. (AP) -- Authorities say a 19-year-old suburban Chicago teen is being held on bond after allegedly attacking his mother's boyfriend with a wooden baseball bat.
A judge ordered Paul Rukawiczkin held on $25,000 bail on Sunday. He was charged with aggravated domestic battery. He's from unincorporated Des Plaines.
Cook County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Patterson says Rukawiczkin allegedly drank heavily before an argument with his mother's boyfriend on Wednesday evening.
Patterson says the teen then allegedly struck the man's forearms, head and upper torso with the bat.
The victim was sent to Lutheran General Hospital for his injuries.
It was immediately unclear if Rukawiczkin had an attorney. A phone listing for the teen could not be located.
