Champaign-- A local church is getting ready to ship out boxes full of relief supplies to Haiti. But they could still use your help.
First christian church of Champaign is partnering with the Haitian christian outreach to get some much needed items to that country following their devastating earthquake.
They say there is still time to drop off supplies.
They are looking for medicines, non perishable food items and clothing.
You can drop it off right at the church at 3601 South Staley road in Champaign.
They've seen alot of donations already.
"We are very satisfied but we'd love to see a whole lot more because we'll pack up and ship as much as we can get into the country," says Donn Orr minister of missions.
The church is taking donations until next weekend.

Councilman new Streator mayor

STREATOR, Ill. (AP) -- A member of the Streator City Council has been named acting mayor until the next municipal election.
Jimmy Lansford on Monday was named to complete the term of Ray Schmitt, who died last week at age 68.
The 70-year-old Lansford is a retired hospital and bank executive who now heads the local chapter of the American Red Cross and is on the board of St. Mary's Hospital.
Lansford first won his council seat in 2005, being re-elected last year. He was an Army Green Beret medic before beginning his 32 years with St. Mary's.
Lansford said he would probably run for a full term as mayor barring any health problems.
The LaSalle County coroner's office says Schmitt, elected in 1999, was taken from his home to St. Mary's Hospital by ambulance last Tuesday and later died.
