Champaign - It turns out a local firefighter's meatloaf recipe may be better than your mother's but is not good enough to win ten thousand dollars.
Lieutenant John Bell made the semi-final round of the firehouse cook off on Live with Regis and Kelly.
But we found out this morning his recipe and contest video were not enough to get him to the next round and he was eliminated.
John Bell works for the Eastern Prairie Fire Protection District.
He entered his special recipe that he calls better than your mother's meatloaf in the cook off.
He says he cooks it for the guys at the firehouse and it's always a hit.
