They are part of the branch of the company known as mobility workers, and they seeking a new contract.
Because they're working under an extension of the contract that was set to expire February 9th.
"We want the public to be aware that AT&T, we are the most profitable division, but yet, we're treated the worst.", said Amy Blaisdell, Secretary Treasurer of Communication Workers of America Local 4202.
The union represents AT&T mobility workers in Illinois.
Kathy Hayes is an AT&T employee and union member. She says,
"The contract covers about 22,000 employees nationwide. 36 states involved. Lots of people affected by this contract."
We attempted to reach out to AT&T Saturday for their side, but they didn't get back to us Saturday.
The CWA Local 4202 says their demands for a new contract are not in anyway extreme.
"The company is extremely profitable, we work hard everyday at making AT&T mobility successful, and we just want a fair and decent contract.", said Blaisdell.
Allan Cermack, another AT&T employee added,
"It's time for AT&T to get serious at the table and bargain fairly and just with us and give us a good contract and decent living wages."
Union members say they aren't able to go into detail about why they feel AT&T is being unfair.
These contract negotiations started January 26th.
