Their goal is to keep fire personnel and the community safe.
Danville FD, is no longer responding to non-life threatening calls.
In efforts to use their forces, when they're really needed, they won't be sent on calls for instances such as allergy reactions, or strokes.
Officials said, every time a fire truck heads out on the road, they risk injuring themselves, or other citizens because they usually travel at high speeds.
At times, they respond to situations, that they have no way of helping with.
These new policies have been in place since October.
Danville Mayor, Scott Eisenhauer, said many times, fire personnel will arrive at the scene, but have to wait for EMTs because most of their staff isn't properly trained at the paramedic level.
