From 6pm-6am people will be sleeping outside in boxes, overnight.
Tonight's event is the biggest fundraiser of the year for CU At Home.
All the money goes to help the homeless in our community.
Along with people in the community, several city officials are sleeping outside overnight including:
Champaign Mayor--Don Gerard
Champaign & Urbana Police Chiefs-- Anthony Cobb and Patrick Connolly
Champaign City Council-- Karen Foster, Will Kyles
CU At Home's Executive Director, Melany Jackson, said raising homeless awareness, by stepping in their shoes for one night, can make a difference.
Last year's event raised close to $30,000.
This year's goal is $50,000.
