Jennifer Copeland
WICD Anchor
Jennifer can be seen anchoring ABC NewsChannel 15 weeknights at 6 and 10. She joined the WICD news team in January 2006.
Jennifer comes to Champaign from South Bend, Indiana, where she worked as an anchor and general assignment reporter at WSBT-TV.
She began her broadcasting career in Ohio. A graduate of Kent State University, Jennifer was lucky enough to land a job straight of college at WJW FOX 8 News in Cleveland where she worked hard producing investigative and consumer stories.
From there, Jennifer continued her investigative work in Indiana. In 2004, her investigative reporting uncovered a fast-growing problem of animal abuse and neglect - earning her an award for "best news series" from the Associated Press. That same year, Jennifer was also recognized by the Associated Press as one of Indiana's best reporters.
Jennifer enjoys covering everything from feature stories to breaking news. During her career, she's covered several "breaking news" stories for CNN - reporting live from the scene of a massive riot in Benton Harbor, Michigan.
But aside from her busy television career, Jennifer enjoys a fulfilling life with her family - including her husband, Andy, and their very spoiled cat, Chester!
