IN THE NEWS: FACEBOOK TIP PRODUCES LEAD IN 34-YEAR OLD CASE

BENTON, La. (AP) -- It was truly a cold case -- a murder that took place in the woods of Louisiana 34 years ago. But authorities say they used social networking to generate a hot tip to help identify the victim. Bossier Parish Sheriff Julian Whittingon says the department set up a Facebook page for "Bossier Doe" to try to identify the victim whose remains were found in January, 1981. The site featured a reconstructive image by a lab depicting what the woman might look like now. Members of the family contacted authorities days after the page was launched -- and the victim was identified as 17-year-old Carol Ann Cole, of Kalamazoo, Michigan. The search for her killer continues.

IN THE NEWS: iPHONE 6 IMPROVES APPLE'S MARKET SHARE IN CHINA

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) -- The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are big in size. They have also been huge for Apple as it tries to become a bigger player in the Chinese market. Analysts say Apple's market share in China is now at its highest level ever. Meanwhile, rival Samsung has continued to lose ground. The report is from Kantar Worldpanel ComTech and is based on a survey of 15,000 people living in Chinese cities. It finds Apple's market share reached 25.4 percent in the November-to-January period, up from 20.9 percent a year earlier.
